I was raised on Secret of Mana, Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger. Those became my main sources of inspiration and I knew from a very early age that I wanted to write music for games. Then, when I got older, I came across the music of Hitoshi Sakimoto. The stars were right, romantic music started playing and I’ve been in love pretty much since then.
The music I write has been described as a mixture of the East and the West, with a distinct Nordic flair. It’s got traces of the cold, solemn regions of northern Sweden but there’s also a lot of romantic streaks running through it. I believe in motifs and I tend to use them quite a lot in soundtracks I work on – spotting them all has been turned into a fun meta-game for people more than once.
I work primarily with games, but I’ve written music for short films and commercials, too. Games will probably always be my main passion but you have to try new things to grow, and so, I try new things often!
