For this album, I turned again to the VRC6 sound chip, as I did with Tale of the Rat King. This time, however, I tried to create as many textures as possible with it, making complex arrangements with an orchestral sound while keeping a bit of the classic game feel. The album is dedicated to my mentor, Daisaku Ikeda, and its title comes from a poem that he composed:
From whence do you come?
And where do you go?
The moon has set,
But the sun has not yet risen.
In the chaos of darkness before the dawn
Seeking the light,
To dispel the dark clouds from my mind
To find a great tree unbowed by the tempest
I emerge from the Earth.
I hope you enjoy listening! It was a pleasure to create this album and I’m happy to share it with you all.
